When this problem has been analysed the regeneration technology can be defined. It is a treatment for videotape surfaces (involving physics and chemistry) where the magnetic configurations are not altered.
Once the videotapes have been treated by this method, they can be re-read via a recorder of the same standard, that is: a videotape-recorder identical to the one that was used for writing on it.
After this step the former analogical video recordings may be transferred onto a digital medium having a longer life or else be copied (cloned) without penalising their quality. This method also opens up the availability of transferring restored video images onto cinematographic film (videography.)
